Plant Dyed Wool and Needle Felting Workshop at Crafts in the Valley
Description
Crafts in the Valley offers textile and fused glass workshops at the Crafts in the Valley Studio in Cragg Vale, Hebden Bridge West Yorkshire. A new workshop celebrating and experimenting with plant dye alchemy and the wonders of wool! This one if for all the textile lovers and good witches out there! During this workshop you will learn the basics of using a range of plants, flowers and food waste to dye wool fibres. Whilst the dye pots are bubbling, you can enjoy a hands-on crafting activity to create a 3D toadstool out of wool. Using a range of naturally dyed wool fibres, we will use needle felting techniques to sculpt wool into a magical toadstool which can be mounted on a wooden stand. During the workshop there will be the option to make a bundle-dyed silk scarf using dried flowers and plant material. There is a £30 supplement for this extra activity. I offer creative workshops to individuals and private groups, they are designed for art and craft lovers, beginners or experienced crafters, and for those who simply want to enjoy a creative day out. The workshops have proved popular with mothers and daughters, couples, families and friends who wish to spend some quality creative time together. Lots of participants come on their own and enjoy socialising with new people. The workshops are run from the light and airy Crafts in the Valley Studio in Cragg Vale, a short drive from Hebden Bridge in the Calder Valley. The Calder Valley is a great place to visit or make a weekend of it if you are travelling far. Hebden Bridge is a quirky town filled with independent shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants.
