About The Nootka Sea Glass Jewellery Making Group Workshop: Spend two and a half hours learning the art of working with sea glass for jewellery making & create one or TWO unique pendants or necklaces from sea glass to take home with you.  Full instruction from A - Z will be given to help you magically transform your design from paper into two stunning and unique pendants you'll be proud to wear.  As with all of my courses, this will be an intimate and personable workshop with a limited number of students, allowing for lots of individual attention if required. Suitability:   The Nootka Sea Glass workshop is suitable for those with no previous knowledge of working with sea glass in jewellery making.  What you will learn: *Introductions & housekeeping *Sea glass collections, colour types & rarities & my 50 year passion as a collector of sea glass *The history of sea glass *The UK law in relation to beachcombing & sea glass gathering *The best techniques of how to cleanse, buff and polish sea glass for making jewellery.  *The best beaches in the UK to hunt for sea glass! *The exact tools needed to make a sea glass pendant from scratch. *How to clean, cleanse, sand, grind, buff & polish sea glass for jewellery *How to drill sea glass safely and effectively with practical & interactive demo's *How to use design beading *The names of relevant jewellery making equipment suppliers *The different types of sea glass pendants & their creation techniques from flat to stacker styles Please note: I do supply pre-drilled pieces of sea glass which you are welcome to use in your creation if you do not wish to drill your own piece. There is no upon you pressure during my workshops! After you've learnt all the above, you'll be inspired to sketch out your own design on paper & choose your own sea glass pieces to drill or pieces to use from my own collection along with implementing a choice of over 140 varieties (1000 beads) in beautiful glass, gemstone and ceramic beads to include in your designs. If you have your own sea glass pieces then do please bring a few pieces along. However, I cannot guarantee that it will be suitable for you to drill. What You Need to Bring: *A pen and pad

I'm Niki, I've lectured in various modalities of natural medicine since 1997. I'm a qualified teacher as well as a further education lecturer. I teach a wide range of holistic therapy courses, along with sea glass jewellery making. I suffered a stroke aged just 25 whilst undertaking my psychology degree, but herbalism aided my complete recovery, so I subsequently trained as a Master Herbalist.
