Description

Jacqueline invites you to slip away into your creative bubble for a professional, skill based workshop tailored specifically to your needs. This fun packed, busy workshop takes place in Jacqueline's own workroom slightly north of the beautiful, historical city of York. This full day workshop covers all the techniques and skills required to make oodles of scatter cushion designs to embellish your couches, chairs and beds. Is this course for me? Do you look longingly at sofas beautifully adorned with an ensemble of scatter cushions? Would you like to discover how to make buttons, bias piping, insert zips and tackling luxurious trimmings, all to a professional standard? Jacqueline will share the tricks of the trade. What will I learn? This busy full days workshop will teach you the techniques and stitches, to make bespoke designed scatter cushions, including pattern matching, handmade buttons, piping, and dealing with the dynamics of trimmings. You will learn how to measure and cut your fabric to maximize on pattern and detail, three options on how-to insert a zip. During the workshop you will complete at least 2 cushions, one with piped edging and another with fancy trimming. Who will be teaching me? Jacqueline is creative and talented, with over 20 years of teaching experience. Jacqueline trained in Interior Design and Professional Soft Furnishings with the National Design Academy and now owns JSInteriorsUK and Jacqueline's Bears. As well as running workshops Jacqueline works as an Interior Designer in Yorkshire with mostly private clients on whole room schemes and holiday cottages. What will I take home? The knowledge, skills and confidence to make your own scatter cushions at home. Oodles of design ideas and inspiration for future projects. Training notes. Information about tried and tested reliable suppliers. Access to a range of resources specifically reserved for workshop delegates on JSInteriorUK website for other soft furnishing projects. And, of course, 2 or more cushion covers to dress your home. Scatter cushions are complimentary to bespoke curtains, blinds and handmade lampshades. Some hand and machine sewing experience will be useful, however Jacqueline will provide oodles of encouragement and support, therefore this course is suitable for both the beginner and more experienced sewer. How do I book? Please note that bookings are by request. Although dates are marked as available you'll need to check and confirm true availability. Please state in your message the dates that suits you the most and I'll get back to you to confirm or suggest other dates. I try to be as flexible as possible, so that you can fit the workshops in with your home life and work commitments.

What's included in the price?

All course fees are inclusive of 1 full day of tuition, all specialist cushion making materials & sundries, 2 cushion pads, training notes and a light lunch. If you need to cancel for any reason you can book onto another course or a full refund will be provided as long as you cancel within 2 weeks of your start date. We reserve the right to cancel the course if we get insufficient bookings and will aim to provide you with 10 days notice, your fee will be fully refunded.
