Jacqueline invites you to slip away into your creative bubble for a professional, skill based workshop tailored specifically to your needs. This fun packed, busy day takes place in Jacqueline's own workroom slightly north of the beautiful, historic city of York. You will learn all the traditional techniques required to make elegant bespoke handmade tailored lampshades. Is this course for me? Elegant, neat traditional tailored shades, whether for business or pleasure, would you like to learn all the stitches and techniques required to make your own handmade tailored shades to a professional standard? Jacqueline will share the tricks of the trade. What will I learn? During this busy workshop you will complete a traditional handmade, balloon lined, tailored shade and also gain the confidence to work on a variety of future lampshade projects using traditional methods and hand sewing techniques. Skills include, traditional binding, creating a stretched pattern for panel design and lining, pattern matching, bespoke bias trimming and much more ... Who will be teaching me? Jacqueline is creative and talented, with over 20 years of teaching experience. Jacqueline trained in Interior Design and Professional Soft Furnishings with the National Design Academy and now owns JSInteriorsUK and Jacqueline's Bears. As well as running workshops Jacqueline works as an Interior Designer in Yorkshire with mostly private clients on whole room schemes and holiday cottages. What will I take home? The knowledge, skills and confidence to make more bespoke handmade lampshades. Oodles of design ideas and inspiration for future projects. Training notes. Information about tried and tested reliable suppliers. Access to a range of resources specifically reserved for workshop delegates for other soft furnishing projects. And, of course, your first complete, beautiful lampshade. Traditional lampshades are complimentary to bespoke curtains, blinds and scatter cushions so do check out the 'see more by this course organiser' to see other courses available. Only minimal sewing experience is necessary, therefore this course is suitable for both the beginner and more experienced, enthusiastic sewer. How do I book? Please note that bookings are by request. I try to be as flexible as possible, so that you can fit the workshops in with your home life and work commitments.

What's included in the price?

All course fees are inclusive of a full days of tuition, all lampshade making specialist materials & sundries, including 100% cotton Tana Lawn for the lining & training notes and a light lunch. If you need to cancel for any reason you can book onto another course or a full refund will be provided as long as you cancel within 2 weeks of your start date. We reserve the right to cancel the course if we get insufficient bookings and will aim to provide you with 10 days notice, your fee will be fully refunded.
