These large scale floor cushions are lovely made up in a medium to heavy fabric. They are a great project for beginners and intermediates and a super useful addition to your home. Adding the hand stitched detail takes them to another level and gives a really beautiful finish. These cushions are also great in the garden, just chucked on the grass as the weather gets a little warmer. Or offer one to your pooch as a super comfy dog bed! You will learn: How to set up your sewing machine - and some trouble shooting How to understand the different qualities of fabric How to sew and finish seams neatly How to insert a concealed zip How to sew boxed corners How to add hand stitched detail If you would like to bring your own fabric, you will need 75cm of fabric at 140cm wide, or 1m if it is narrower. A medium to heavy weight soft furnishing fabric is appropriate for this project. Please avoid velvet or any fabric with a nap. Our Studio is in a beautiful converted Oast with exposed beams and gentle views across the farmland. Filled with mouth-watering aromas from The Oast Bakery, where Alison prepares our delicious refreshments, this is the perfect place to escape the pressures of daily life and enjoy some creative time for yourself. Our aim is to offer the chance to unwind, learn a new skill and meet like minded people whilst enjoying a cuppa and a slice of cake.
