About the Course

If you’ve always wanted to learn how to knit by machine, this is the class for you! You’ll learn the basics of how a knitting machine works, how to set one up and you’ll be inspired to start experimenting with patterns and colours.

In this class, you’ll:

-Gain a firm grasp of basic machine knitting skills
-Learn how to set up a knitting machine, change between different coloured yarns and how to blend and mix different yarns together
-Learn various techniques, including casting on and off, lace holes stripes and ladders
-Have a better understanding of knitwear yarns, machines and gauges
-Practice how to use a transfer tool to make patterned eyelets in your swatches/garments
-Experiment with different yarns and create swatches to take away

At the end of the class, you’ll be able to knit a scarf and/or have a collection of experimental swatches, which can be further developed into your own designs.

I really enjoyed this class. I've learned that with machine knitting, the opportunities to create something new and different are literally endless. I'm really excited to try things out on my own now. I thought the teacher was excellent. She was super patient and showed me techniques again and again until I had mastered it. Highly recommend this class!
