A one day introduction to the technique of gilding on glass. Intended to familiarise you with the practice of gilding and etching a design onto glass. During the day you will gild a 10x10cm coaster that you can take home at the end of the course. You will learn how to: prepare the glass make a size for the gold application cut and apply loose gold leaf onto the reverse of the glass etch a design onto the glass seal the gold with enamel An amazing opportunity to learn new skills and understand this incredible art. Suitable for all ages and abilities. No experience required. A fantastic group activity with friends.

What's included in the price?

All materials and tools are supplied. You will be applying 6 carat white gold loose leaf. 23.5 carat gold can be purchased at additional cost of £0.50 per sheet. A selection of suitable designs to etch will be provided. Please feel free to bring your own. You may wish to contact me to discuss suitability as some designs may take longer to etch. Refreshments (tea, fresh coffee, homemade biscuits/cake) provided. Please bring your own lunch. Please arrive for 9.30am for a drink and a chance to talk through what we will be doing. Gilding will start at 10am. Please contact me for upcoming dates and venues. Most pre-arranged workshops will be based in North Norfolk, but can be flexible. Workshops, inclusive of date and venue can be arranged to suit you.
