Our one-day intro to metal furniture making course will introduce you to the basics of MIG Welding and Brazing. Two metal joining processes with different set-up costs and skill levels. The day will teach you about using these processes, hand-tools and manipulating steel tube. By learning these essential skills you will make a metal stool of your own to take away. Over the day you will practise welding skills and receive 1-2-1 tuition and create beautiful Brazed joinery. Before cutting lengths of mild steel tubing on the band saw, you'll then use the tube bender to manipulate steel to form your stools legs. By using the final assembly JIG’S you're weld & braze together all the parts. This course is perfect for anyone keen on experiencing using metal to build products or look at alternative methods to join small metal parts. It is a fantastic gift experience for a loved one and has been commended as an “Experience of the Year” in the Devon Toursim Awards alongside recognition as a Top Creative Courses in Plymouth. Once complete you can come back and hire a welding bay. The day will be led by Richard Evans, an experienced metal fabricator and designer. All materials required for this course are included in the price. Level: No experience needed. What you'll make: Contemporary stool.
