About the Course
The role of the digestive system is fundamental to our overall health. The study of herbalism incorporates nutrition. Over these sessions we will take a journey through our digestive systems, look at major food groups, common ailments and how we can work with medicinal plants, diet and lifestyle to maintain good health and help improve our overall wellbeing.
Who is this course for
For those who have some background knowledge of working with medicinal plants in tea form - infusions and decoctions. Some previous experience of attending herbal workshops or courses is desirable.
What does this course cover
Anatomy of the digestive system;
Common complaints of the digestive system, for e.g. IBS
Herbs that support the digestive system
Recommendations for a healthy balanced diet
Simple herbal preparations
Students should be able to choose an appropriate herb for one specific complaint of the digestive system and be able to describe how to make a simple herbal preparation by the end of the course.
