About the Course
An introduction to the digestive system and immune health. For each system we will look at the anatomy - form and function - and how we can work with medicinal plants, diet and lifestyle that can be useful to support these systems and our general wellbeing. Topics will include herbal, dietary and lifestyle strategies for supporting digestive & immune health.
Who is this course for
For the who have some background knowledge of working with medicinal plants in tea form - infusions and decoctions. Some previous experience of attending herbal workshops or courses is desirable.
What does this course cover
A brief look at the anatomy of the digestive system. Common conditions that affect digestive health, e.g. We will look at strategies for managing IBS and acid indigestion
How to support your immune system and choose an appropriate supportive medicinal plant. Atopic allergies such as hay fever, asthma and eczema.
Recommendations for useful herbs, supportive nutrition and lifestyle for both the digestive and immune systems
Students should be able to choose an appropriate herb for one specific complaint of digestive or immune systems and be able to describe how to make a simple herbal preparation by the end of the course.
