About the Course
Our new Half Day Glass Fusing Workshop is a three hour course held in our spacious studio, in North Cornwall, 5 miles from Bude. This course is intended to give you a little taste of the world of glass fusing, a fabulous home made Cornish Cream Tea and beautiful coloured fused glass light catcher and a coaster to treasure or give to extra special deserving people as presents! You can choose from an array of coloured fusing glass, to add detail and colour to your base layer of ready cut clear glass.
For your coaster, you can choose from three different techniques, painting using glass enamels, including a hand cut copper design into your coaster or the fascinating method of kiln carving. All these methods will be demonstrated and any help with designs or techniques is readily available.

What a fantastic half-day my Sister and I had at Amanda's studio!
We started with an introduction to the different types of glass and how they can be used to create different effects, followed by a demonstration of glass cutting techniques and plenty of time to practice. We then paused for a lovely cream tea, which gave us a chance to chat about what we were planning to make and how, before it was back to the studio to get stuck in!
We both made a coaster-sized piece and a larger, hanging piece, which Amanda fused for us after the workshop and then sent on. All pieces have arrived beautifully wrapped and in tact and we are so pleased with them - can't recommend this course enough!

Amanda has a lovely bright well organised studio . There is a vast range of different glass products one can use . A bit like being in a sweet shop !
In the half day I had , I made an Autumn based glass tile , using various coloured glass Frits and glass spaghetti . Also I made an book mark size hanging glass scene based on the Cornish countryside . This required glass cutting and a bit of grinding .
We had an enormous cream tea , hot scones etc !
It being the last day of my holiday , Amanda posted my work to me , beautifully wrapped and came in one piece !
