Course Start DatesSaturday 29th February 2020
About the Course
Full day glassblowing class for up to 6 people in a working glass studio. With two tutors, you're assured of individual teaching and support. You will learn the basics of gathering hot glass from the furnace and shaping it with traditional glassmaking tools. Then you go on to blowing glass and applying colour. People usually make two or three pieces, including colourful vases or bowls. This is a really hands-on experience!
The class is suitable for complete beginners and can also build on skills from shorter courses.
The glass studio is easy to reach from London and the Midlands.
Minimum age: 18
If booking with a CraftCourses voucher for part or all of the course fee, please fill in the contact form above. Your voucher code must be provided at the point of booking.
What's included in the price?
We provide tea or coffee and lots of water to drink during the class.
All tools, safety equipment and materials are provided.
There is a charge of £20 per person, payable on the day or in advance, for grinding, preparing and posting your glass.
I did this course yesterday (full-day) as a Christmas present. I admit I was apprehensive when it came to it but that was just plain silly. My husband and I had a fabulous day and some wonderful pieces were made by everyone who attended, including the four absolute beginners. Two great tutors who were knowledgable, patient and ever vigilant of safety and quickly all worries about working with 'very hot', molten glass were allayed. Just a wonderful day which I want to repeat to learn new shapes.

Response from Bransfield Glassmakers:Thank you very much, Jean! So glad you both enjoyed it, and of course we'll be very happy to see you again if (when!) you come again.
