In our 5 week fused glass course, led by Elisa Dodd, you can create and design glass art pieces using the method of glass fusing. What can you learn? Beginners will learn to cut glass, the different types of fusing to achieve different effects and encasing copper in between glass. Intermediates can look at new ways of working including kiln carving and reaction glass. What can you make? Coasters, suncatchers, jewellery, decorative ornaments and more… What tools/equipment can you use? Glass cutter, pliers, breaking pliers, craft knife, candles What is the course structure? A different technique is covered in each session. Topics covered include: Full Fusing Tack fusing Accessory glass Copper inclusions Reactions Kiln carving, Decals, Slumping What is the recommended level of experience? This course is suitable for all experience levels: For beginners, this may be your first try at this new craft or you may have attended done a basic or taster workshop previously Intermediate students may already have covered full, tack and slump fusing and be competent at cutting glass. What's included in the price?

Your starter pack of glass will include mainly clear glass with a small selection of coloured pieces. All firings are included in the course fee. Accessory items used will be provided. More glass can be purchased at cost. I would expect most people to spend at least an extra £10 on glass.

Disabled Parking
There are two disabled parking bays a few yards from Making Space at ///caring.family.dots

As Making Space is a charity we are unable to run activity at a loss. All of our courses must meet a minimum number in order to run. If one person drops out this can lead to the course being cancelled for everyone! If you change your mind or cannot attend, we will try to resell your place and if we are able to do so we will offer you a full refund. Refunds are also offered if we take a decision to cancel a course or workshop.

We are also happy to transfer your booking to an alternative course or the same course at a later date.
