Description
On this Felted Winter Landscape workshop Cecily Kate teaches you how to ‘paint’ with wool and create this beautiful needle felted design. This is a therapeutic and relaxing workshop - 'painting’ with wool is a magical process perfect for beginners and intermediate level. No artistic experience required! On this workshop you will learn how to lay out the dry loose wool fibres in layers onto the pre felt ‘canvas' much as you would when methodically painting layers for a water colour landscape painting. Fibres can easily be added and removed without damaging the landscape. The soft cloudy quality of the fibre creates a diffused image, reminiscent of an impressionist painting. Once you learn this simple technique you'll be able to create your own special pieces at home. Cecily Kate will guide you every step of the way - from colour choices to blending secondary and tertiary colours, to helping you create depth and perspective and light and shadow as you gradually needle felt the layers down while building up your landscape. Final details are added in the foreground to further enhance your scene. We will frame your finished piece so you can take it straight home and hang it on your wall or gift to someone special. Cecily Kate has created a beautiful series of seasonal woolly paintings that capture the magical quality of the UK landscape. Each scene can be a stand alone piece of art or you can make them all and curated the whole set for your wall. Cecily Kate releases new landscapes every season so keep an eye out! The image of the landscape for each workshop is provided as inspiration to work from. Please note, this is a needle felting workshop - no wet felting involved.
