Come along and join me for this relaxed cyanotype workshop! I'll take you through the basics and help you create your own pieces of art. This is suitable for beginners but we'll use a range of techniques to help you produce gorgeous prints to hang on your wall, or give away as gifts. This UV-sensitive printing technique combines Ferric Ammonium Citrate and Potassium Ferricyanide with sunlight. Laying leaves, flowers, feathers, buttons etc. on the treated paper and exposing it to sunlight captures their image permanently and creates a beautiful blue print. I have a UV lamp in case the sun is hiding on the day.
What's included in the price?
A selection of different sized watercolour paper that has been precoated with chemicals. All equipment and materials. I will have some flowers, leaves, feathers etc. but I recommend you bring items of your own choice. Look for interesting shaped leaves and flowers - ferns and alliums make amazing prints - lay them on kitchen roll and press between two heavy books for a couple of days before you come. Tea, coffee, squash and home-made cake (please let me know if you have any dietary requirements and I will cater accordingly).
