I am excited to be offering my one day Creative Papermaking workshop at Narberth Museum. This is a beautiful venue with a purpose built workshop space and within easy walking distance of Narberth town centre, with its creative shops and cafes.T There will be plenty of opportunities to explore textural possibilities and have fun developing ideas. This workshop is for beginners or participants who have some experience of making handmade recycled paper. You will learn or refresh on how to use a Deckle and Mould and to transform old paper into new, using the pouring method. You will be shown how to expand scale to create patchwork paper; explore line to create textural paper stripes and also how to emboss textured pattern, with printing blocks. Or you can simply build confidence and experiment further with surface texture, by adding a variety of inclusions to your fresh handmade paper.

What's included in the price?

All materials will be provided. Choose amongst dried petals, seeds, leaves and threads to add to your paper to create exciting textural surfaces. You may want to make a stand alone piece of create a series of experiments for use in mixed media collage, card making, gift tags, bookmarks, framed pieces etc. You may also want to bring some of your own pressed leaves or dried flower petals, as well as additional thin scraps of paper to recycle as part of your handmade paper creations. There will be plentiful visual resources to help inspire you, including images by other Papermaking artists. There will also be information sheets for you to take home. There is a cafe in the museum where you can buy refreshments and there are cafes nearby in the town where you can buy lunch. You are welcome to bring a packed lunch, if you prefer.

FAQs

Yes, you will be able to pay £55.00 if you book up to and including March 28th. After then it will be £65.00.

All materials will be provided, however you may also want to bring some of your own pressed thin leaves (thick waxy ones won't adhere) or dried flower petals, as well as additional thin scraps of paper to recycle as part of your handmade paper creations.
You may also want to bring a packed lunch, or you can eat in one of the cafes in Narberth.

Narberth Museum is fully accessible with a ramp to an accessible toilet on the ground floor, as well as a lift as an alternative to the stairs, up to the first floor where the teaching venue is.

The nearest car park is approximately a 5 minute walk away at Townsmoor car park.

There is a cafe downstairs from the teaching venue that provides hot and cold drinks and snacks.

Bookings will close on April 11th at 9am for the Creative Papermaking workshop on April 18th.

Children age 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Well behaved children age 13 and over are welcome. I have an up to date DBS subscription.
