Description
Join textile artist Anne Ward for a day of mindful, collage stitching. Bringing nothing more than a supermarket sized bag of small scraps of fabric, threads, trims and buttons/beads, sewers will create a personal creative fabric collage suitable for the front of a special greetings card or as a piece of textile art. Stitches will be taught and trims used to embellish. This is intended to be a mindful process bringing people into the present moment with a project that is small enough to pick up and work on in a spare 5 minutes when the class is over. Try not to buy scraps of fabric, beg from friends if you don't sew, the result will be good. Who is this workshop for? All levels, complete beginners welcome. Please note that this workshop is for those aged 18 and over. What you will need: Please bring scraps of fabric (no more than will fit into a shopping bag), threads, and trims. If you don’t have these, ask your friends and neighbours if they have any spare! You will also need a basic sewing kit, any sewing needles of any size, any plain sewing cotton. Unfortunately, we do not have our own designated car park, however there are plenty around Cirencester. The nearest short stay car park is The Brewery Car Park which is approximately 2 minutes away and is a council run pay and display. This car park has several disabled parking spaces too. Sheep Street Car Park is a longer stay car park 3 minutes away, it is a cashless car park facilitated by Pay by Phone. Full details of all car parks and pricing can be found on Cotswold District Council Website.
We pride ourselves on smaller class sizes, so you get plenty of help from the tutors. Maximum 8-10 students per class.
Of course, and for some classes we may ask you to do this. Please don’t worry, if this is the case it will be clearly shown on the booking pages and in your confirmation emails.
