Crafty Basketry's Half-day Weaving a Funeral Wreath in Etchingham
Description
Writing your speech, having your say in the organisation of the funeral, thinking deeply about what your loved one would've wished it to be are opportunities for you to come to terms with your loss and are very important for the grieving process. Weaving your wreath with natural willow, being in the moment, weaving with your loved one in mind, is another of those very therapeutic things and a wonderful way to add your contribution to the ceremony. You will learn how to create the arrangement of flowers and what to think about, once it's in situ. These courses are for absolute beginners. Children as young as 12 can take part too. Groups are small - up to 6 participants - so you get all the attention you may need. What we make: In a step-by-step way, you will be shown how to weave a wreath of 30cm, 40cm or 50cm. You could choose to spend the half day with family or friends, reminiscing about the special moments you had with your loved one, allowing yourself time to heal. Weaving and creating is very therapeutic and immensely relaxing, as you are using head, heart and hands, bringing body and mind back in sync. You will be able to completely reground and reconnect with nature. Is this something for me? Over the years, people with disabilities, or who were thought to be lesser abled were still able to weave a basket. Not quite sure about your abilities or whether your wrists will manage, then just get in touch and I will assess whether it's for you. Location: I try to organise the workshops in rural locations, as then we have the full benefits of nature around us to fully reconnect and rewind.
