Hello & welcome. I'm Sharon, an experienced ceramic artist who alongside a small staff team runs fun & informal pottery sessions for those aged 18 years & over. This hand building taster class is a great introduction to the fabulous world of clay hand building. It's fab for day's out, a new hobby, get togethers & those that have always wanted a go. In this step by step class you'll make either a mug or tankard by hand. We start by showing you how to prepare a slab of clay. Our tutor will show you how to cut out your template and attach the clay together to form your basic shape. You will explore texture & surface decoration before adding the handle. The class runs every day except Sundays & Mondays & can be attended by up to 5 persons. The class includes your bisque (first) firing To make the mug or tankard food safe you'll need to return to the studio to glaze your creation. This is £15pp for a 2 hour session. The Crafty Potter studio is based within Heskin shopping Village, a unique retail and leisure destination featuring over 40 unique shops and businesses. With free parking we’re a perfect destination for you to make a great fun day out. The class makes a fabulous gift for all occasions.
