A bit about your instructor, Emine Mine:
I am a jewellery artist. I was born in Turkey and now live in Whitley Bay and work from my studio at the Biscuit Box Studios in Newcastle upon Tyne. I have been designing and making jewellery professionally for some time now. I have a background in landscape architecture and 3D modelling. I also have a background in teaching for more than 20 years in various settings- from one-to-one to lectures and seminars.
In my designs, I like to combine traditional silversmithing techniques with metal clay techniques. I like to utilise centuries old techniques such as mokume-gane, keum-boo and enamelling to fuse different materials together to create something unique. I am a member of the Network Artists North East, the Association for Contemporary Jewellery, and The Craft Council Directory. I am also registered with Edinburgh Assay Office where my creations are hallmarked.
For the time being this workshop is open for one-to-one sessions or groups of max 3.
I am taking all the hygiene and safety measures within my workshop. I have a face shield and you can use a mask if you prefer to do so. All the surfaces and tools are wiped cleaned with disinfectant after every session. You can also use gloves if you wish to do so.
