Description

An immersive, hands on class where you’ll transform a plain steel billet into a fully functional axe that you’ve forged and shaped, heat treated and assembled yourself. Techniques you will learn include: - Use of hand tools (tongs, hammers, fullers, etc). - Use of heavy machinery (power hammer and hydraulic press). The fundamentals of heat treatment: - Normalising. - Hardening (quenching). - Tempering. Suitable for total beginners and intermediate smiths alike, or those looking to further their tool making skills.

All materials and necessary PPE supplied along with refreshments throughout the day. Please note that lunch is not included.
