Have you ever wanted to try your hand at leather work?
On this one-day course you will learn how to make a belt from start to finish. You will learn traditional leather craft techniques from carving and embossing leather, dying leather, polishing edges, riveting buckles and sewing on an industrial sewing machine.
You can transfer these techniques to make dog collars as well as belts.
Key skills learned in this course
How to make a paper pattern for your chosen design
Introduction to leather carving
Different ways to dye and stain leather
Optional hand stitching or sewing on the industrial machines
How to attach different hardware
What to bring
We provide the leather & rivets but please bring with you buckles and any metal component for decoration.
When buying buckles they will refer to the size of leather belt width that you will use. For example most commonly used is around a 3.5cm buckle for a jeans belt. You will find different colour metals so please pick matching metal finishes for all components.

I will wear a mask for close contact teaching but it is not compulsory for students to wear them as you will all be 2m apart.
