Description

This course is perfect for beginner leatherworkers and will provide you with some of the basic skills and knowledge of leatherwork, whilst also creating the perfect accessories for your pet pooch! You will finish the session with a complete dog collar and lead, as well as knowledge about different types of leather and leather working tools. Rosanna will teach you the basics of leather work, including techniques such as marking, hole punching, saddle stitching and edge finishing. You will get to choose from a range of leather and thread colours as well as a choice of hardware finishes. About your tutor: Rosanna Gethin Rosanna, a former Design & Technology teacher, launched her leather craft business after 10 years in education. She authored Sew Luxe Leather (2018), a guide featuring 20 beginner-friendly projects. Committed to reducing waste, she upcycles old leather into new creations like handbags, leading to appearances on the BBC’s Money for Nothing (2020 onwards). She runs workshops at her Essex studio for up to 6 people and delivers larger events for clients, including Soho House and Spotify, catering to groups of up to 20. Rosanna mainly works with reclaimed or repurposed leather, supplemented by sustainably sourced European hides.
