Description

Come and learn the art of leather craft whilst also making yourself your very own, unique belt! Rosanna will teach you the basics of leather work, including techniques such as marking, hole punching, saddle stitching and edge finishing. You will get to choose from a range of leather and thread colours as well as a choice of hardware finishes. To complete your belt, you can emboss with your name or initials for that extra special personal touch. About the tutor: Rosanna Gethin Rosanna, a former Design & Technology teacher, launched her leather craft business after 10 years in education. She authored Sew Luxe Leather (2018), a guide featuring 20 beginner-friendly projects. Committed to reducing waste, she upcycles old leather into new creations like handbags, leading to appearances on the BBC’s Money for Nothing (2020 onwards). She runs workshops at her Essex studio for up to 6 people and delivers larger events for clients, including Soho House and Spotify, catering to groups of up to 20. Rosanna mainly works with reclaimed or repurposed leather, supplemented by sustainably sourced European hides. All products are handmade and packaged in eco-friendly, recyclable materials About Flatford Mill: We have four buildings that are used for visitor accommodation. Whilst most rooms are either en-suite or have a dedicated bathroom, there are some rooms in The Mill that share showers and toilets at the end of the hall. If this is unsuitable for you, please make the office staff aware upon booking or as soon as possible. Please be aware that you are visiting a Field Centre that caters in the main for school parties; the accommodation is basic and dormitory style, but warm and comfortable.
