"This course was amazing from start to finish. Carl (and Ray) were excellent teachers and ensured each and every one of the group were involved throughout. I learnt lots over the weekend and met some great people. We had lots of fun while repairing part of a drystone wall. Food and refreshments were aplenty and very enjoyable too. Thank you "

"I joined Landmark Walling for their Dry Stone Walling two day weekend course in the beautiful Peak District this April (2024). The warm welcome on day 1 from Carl, Ray and Sharon immediately put me at ease and I felt excited to learn how to build a dry stone wall! Carl's teaching style was fantastic as it was just a small portion looking at dry stone wall build diagrams, and mostly outside watching Carl's techniques and then building and getting up close and personal with the wall. We learn't how to dismantle the old wall, stone by stone, and how to lay a healthy foundation and how to restore the wall back to its former glory 300 years ago. Carl taught us about different stone types, shapes and sizes that each have their place on the wall. The level of care and attention to detail with health and safety, as well as having a blast of fun with the group made it such a special experience! Everyone got equal attention and opportunity to learn and take part, and it really is suited well to beginners. Sharon's hospitality at break and lunch time was perfect, thank you. The food was locally sourced, fresh and homemade and delicious. I will definitely be returning for round 2."

"So pleased to have been part of a team, which had an age range in excess of 50 years, that rebuilt a dry stone wall from its crumbling state to something we could all be proud of in just 2 days. Thank you to Carl, Sian and Sharon for keeping us on task, sharing your skills and knowledge and catering so well for us all. I would thoroughly recommend this course- such a positive and enjoyable experience. "
