Leon Walker reviewed: Carve a Rocking Horse Head Course

"A cracking course. Tony builds confidence in both your woodcarving skills but also your artistic interpretation - by the end your horse's head may not look exactly like one of his but it will be pretty darn good!"

Stuart Macpherson reviewed: A stool making day

"I had a great day last weekend, shaping a big tree trunk into a stool. Idylic rustic setting where it never rains and a day full of good instruction and chat about the what, how and why of wood working. If you have toyed with the idea of doing a bit wood work then go on the course. You'll really enjoy it."

Gaynor reviewed: A stool making day

"This course is brilliant. I went along thinking I might learn how to use a saw, and came away with a whole stool, some top knowledge on timber, and inspired that a place like this has grown up over 30 years and is going strong. Super fun, beautiful setting, great company. Thanks so much."

Emilie reviewed: One day introductory course to candle making

"Absolutely great value for money. Not only is it a fun, relaxing day, but you come away with knowledge to continue making candles on your own in a way that more than pays off the price of the course. Great class sizes and a very patient teacher, especially considering everyone in the course was new to candle making. Will definitely be going back for an intermediate level course."

Di clark reviewed: Full day fused glass course

"My taster day was a surprise birthday present and I can honestly say it was the best pressie ever. My sister and I had were dying to be introduced to glass fusing and we were not disappointed. We spent a fantastic day playing with all different types of glass and techniques. Kim and Sharon were by our sides with constant advice and guidance and they made the day informative and great fun. We had total freedom in what we made and in our choice of glass which was nice. The day whizzed past and I came away having made a photo frame, small dish, two coasters and four earrings. Kim and Sharon made it a very special day for us. Their tuition, company, home cooked food and hospitality made for a really good learning but pampering day. We would truly recommend signing up to a taster day with Kim and Sharon."

"I have attended Sharon's carving classes at Port Talbot for many years, and with her superb tuition have achieved a high standard, having won First Prizes in the Craft section at the Royal Welsh Show for a number of years. Sharon has, with her patience, limitless knowledge, lovely sense of humour and in an enjoyable atmosphere, given me such pleasure and an ability to produce various items that I am very proud of. I recommend her system of tuition to anyone who wants to take up a very satifying hobby."

Caryl Gill reviewed: Wood carving and Love Spoons

"I had never carved before I started Sharon's classes. Sharon doesn't just carve love spoons, although her spoons are exceptional in their detail, but she is a good general carver. That means that whatever project you choose she gives good workable advice. She is an excellent, patient teacher with a brilliant sense of humour. They are classes I really enjoy."

Rachel White reviewed: One Day Upholstery Classes in Bournemouth, Dorset

"I had been planning to upholster my four dining chair for ages and would probably have never got round to it had it not been for Vicky's upholstery course. I seriously underestimated what I needed to do to make my chairs look new again. Fortunately, with Vicky's expertise and a large dollop of patience (hers and mine) my chairs look amazing. I highly recommend her course. Love her studio too!"

Kate reviewed: Hand-stitched leather tote, satchel or messenger bag course

"Excellent! I did this 2 day course on Monday and Tuesday of this week and have come home with a stylish, classic leather bag that I can tell from the quality will last me years, maybe decades. I chose the red messenger bag with havana straps and enjoyed the whole process throughly, Gaynor is a great teacher and knows her subject well, giving lots of extra tips and information as we went. I loved the hand-stitching - it's been a long term ambition to learn this technique and I'm delighted with my new skills and elegant new handbag. Thank you Pembrokeshire Leatherwork!"

"I had the most wonderful day!! Maddie received me very warmly and is a very good instructor. There is an abundance of material to choose from, there are very helpful examples to use as inspiration and the studio itself is a very calm inspiring place. I got to take my finished work with me leaving me with a great reminder of a very rewarding day! I would definitely recommend this workshop, I drove up from London and it was more than worth it!! Hopefully I will be able to come round again in summer with my mother and let her experience it as well! Maddie: many thanks!!!!"

Liz Jary reviewed: One Day Upholstery Classes in Bournemouth, Dorset

"I have no experience in upholstery and turned up with a £20 footstool that I found at an antiques market. I was very apprehensive about what I could achieve but was amazed with the results. Vicky was very good at breaking down all the different stages that we had to go through and made them seem very achievable. My friends and family cannot believe that I upholstered the footstool. Somebody did ask if I could do one for them (not sure I am there yet but pleased they thought so!) I am on the look out for my next piece as it is really rewarding coming away with something that looks so great!"

Laura Gaunt reviewed: One Day Upholstery Classes in Bournemouth, Dorset

"I did not have much faith in my ability to upholster but cannot believe what Vicky managed to teach me in one day. I arrived with a £10 telephone table seat and left with something that looks like I paid a lot more for it and has pride of place in my bedroom. We stripped our items right back and learnt all the traditional techniques to get our items looking great again. Vicky knows loads about fabrics too and was able to suggest some amazing suppliers. I would definitely recommend this course to anyone wanting to give upholstery a go or further their skills. I'm hooked now!"

Charlotte Skelton reviewed: Hand spinning for beginners at Cartmel Handspun

"Brilliant! I went with no prior experience but Elaine made it easy and fun. I leanred a lot from this course and I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to start hand-spinning. As there is only 2 people on a course at any one time it means that you get one to one tuition. Thoroughly enjoyable! Thanks Elaine!"
