"I attended the Saori 2 Day Beginners Course. My previous experience of weaving was from primary school 65 years ago! We were welcomed into a calm space with a ‘sweet shop’ of threads and beads to inspire us. Amanda introduced us to the principles of Saori weaving in a totally unthreatening way. We were soon on the looms and exploring the techniques we’d been introduced to. Amanda skilfully assisting and encouraging as required. The 2 days went far too quickly and I for one was left wanting more. I’ve found myself looking at colour and texture around me more observantly I was seduced by the bright colours of the threads available but would now love to try something in muted shades as seen in Amanda’s fabulous examples. Thank you Amanda for your patience and inspiration."

"Two of us joined a lovely supportive and creative ( 4 students in total) group to try this weaving for the first time. It was a lovely day, very relaxing and calming. Amanda was really helpful, constructive, and keen for everyone to do their very best and to enjoy the day. She was really generous with her wool etc, knowlege , not to mention refreshments. "A super weekend learning to weave the SAORI way... Amanda is an inspiring teacher who's instructions are clear and not hurried in any way. She is very encouraging and you know you will produce something by the end of the weekend that you can take home. She teaches all ages from young to old, so this is a very inclusive skill to learn. Amanda explains the mysteries of the loom, the different ways to use threads and how a piece of woven cloth can be turned into something wearable and beautifully unique. To come away from the weekend having learned a completely new skill and to have something to show for it is a very satisfying feeling. SAORI weaving is wonderfully creative and there are NO MISTAKES! Give it a go! "

"This is a gem of a days course, many thanks Amanda, I had a lovely time. The background to Saori weaving was summarised , books were available to delve further and then Amanda taught us the simple technique adding in nuggets of wisdom, tricks and tips . Interestingly the 3 of us on the course each approached the choice of colours and textures we incorporated differently ,creating unique pieces with the ‘ treasures’ of ribbon, wool, material peices we had brought in . "

"I attended the 2 Day Beginners Saori Weaving course with Amanda and had a wonderful time. I had done a little bit of weaving before but was new to Saori. Right from the beginning Amanda made me feel relaxed and excited to learn. Her teaching style is relaxed and knowledgable. She had lots of examples for inspiration. She provided all the equipment needed which was all a high standard and a lovely selection of yards and treasures to experiment with. It was lovely to spend this time with like-minded people where the emphasis was on creating from the heart rather than the head. There are a few guidelines but no rules to Saori weaving so when we asked, is this right? Amanda would guide us to give it a try and see what happened and we were rewarded with producing individual and interesting art. I am now totally hooked on Saori weaving and have already booked another session with Amanda. I wholly recommend Amanda and this course if you want to give Saori weaving a go."
