Create a pinned heart. A craft that dates back to WW1 when the solders would recuperate and heal following injury and then send home to their loved ones to remind them they were thinking of their families.
The heart is made of calico and filled with sand and then beautifully decorated with fabrics, ribbons, pins and beads.

Whether you want to try out using a sewing machine or you have a machine and don’t feel confident enough using it then come and spend an afternoon to achieve the knowledge and gain the confidence you need to move forward and get to grips with some exciting sewing projects in the future!
We will go on a tour of your machine and I will take you through taking care of the machine as well...
An introduction to appliqué techniques and free motion embroidery and embellishing.
I will teach you basic appliqué methods and how to draw using an embellishment foot attachment on your sewing machine.
(Machines are available to hire with a small fee - £5).
We will then practise and explore these methods through building a portrait and a landscape.
