"This is a great course and reasonably priced. With only six people on the course, there was plenty of time for individual help and advice and we all managed to complete our baskets to a good standard. Julie is obviously hugely experienced in basketmaking but also has huge patience with us newcomers. The venue was easy to find and has adequate car parking. Everything we needed for the course was provided and the cakes were delicious. I have no hesitation in recommending this course - very informative, interesting and satisfying."

"What a fabulous way to spend a day! I would recommend this to anyone, you don't need to have had any previous experience and Julie is so patient with everyone. I am delighted with my basket and can't quite believe I actually made it. The structure of the day is very good and we were all able to work at our own pace, everything was explained in good detail and anything we didn't quite get, Julie explained it again and was happy to do so. The cake was delicious! Thanks again for a brilliant day and I will be booking again."

"I booked the course for myself and my girlfriend as a fifth anniversary surprise. And what a great way to spend the day! Julie is a very patient and kind teacher, and goes through all the stages of making your very own basket clearly. With a class size of only six there was plenty of scope for one-on-one assistance where it was needed. The home made cake was delicious too. My girlfriend and I were really happy with our finished baskets and can't wait to have a go at making more! Would definitely recommend to others."

"From a complete novice's viewpoint our course was just the ticket. Being faced with some unusual tools, an extremely sharp knife and a collection of sticks we then proceeded to be led through each stage and element of basket construction. Where needed, individual support was given for the trickier moments and at the end of a most enjoyable day we came away with not only a good understanding of basket making techniques but also very presentable baskets that I'm sure will be prized by each of the makers. "My husband and I really enjoyed our basket making day with Julie. Trevor had never done a craft workshop of any kind before and was a little apprehensive, but he needn't have been; Julie is calm, patient and very thorough, explaining and demonstrating all the techniques needed to make a small basket in the English style - and with only six students in the group there is plenty of individual help. There were drinks and delicious homemade cake available throughout the day which helped to keep up our energy levels - basket making is energetic work! Both of us are very proud of our baskets and are keen to do another workshop in the future. Highly recommend. Thanks Julie!"

This was not something either of us had done before but we both are hooked and have ordered some willow to have a go at home. "I have just enjoyed my third basket making day with Julie, I just keep coming back. Julie is a really patient and calm teacher, with just a small number of students she is able to support each of us individually. Each stage of the basket is clearly demonstrated and there is plenty of time to relax and enjoy the craft. On my third workshop I have made a lovely shopping basket - Julie encouraged me to just keep on weaving and make it happen. The home made cakes are fantastic but it would be wrong of me to suggest that this is a reason to come to Julie's workshops!!!!!!"

"So good I did it twice! Julie is a patient, clear and thorough teacher. Everything's provided, so there's no waiting around for tools, and with just six students you get the help you need when you need it. It's extremely satisfying to make something beautiful and useful in a day and I'm very proud of my baskets. The home made cakes are excellent too!
