Willow Christmas tree

Description

Willow is a versatile material that can be shaped into a variety of items and used for many years. On this course, you will create a flat Christmas tree that can be either hung on a wall or positioned on a table. It will measure between 30cm and 50cm tall. All materials will be provided, including the fairy lights. Tutor profile, Emma Wetherell. My creative journey into willow crafting started over 15 years ago when I made my very first basket. Since then, I have perfected my skills in willow crafting through making living willow trees, sculptures, and a multitude of baskets! More recently, my aim has been to inspire more people to fall in love with willow’s wonderful properties through teaching willow craft courses.

"This was a great course and I had a really fun time. There aren’t many things more therapeutic than carving a piece of wood, amongst the trees, around a crackling fire, sharing stories with like minded people. Chris and Paul, the instructors, were very knowledgeable and encouraging and taught more than I expected. A great day and very enjoyable. I also came away with 2 nice spoons that will be used by my children, and a desire to book another course soon. "

"Beautiful setting and our instructors Chris and Paul were both excellent tutors and practitioners. All equipment supplied if you don't have your own and many practical tips and advice shared throughout the day - eg which woods to use, tool sharpening skills, tool use and especially the use of chrome polish as a honing paste..! Got to say not cheap at £75 but all in all a fantastic day. I went home and carved another spoon the very next day! Thank you."
