Description
In beautiful Sussex Woodlands (near Lewes) spend the day learning the ancient and fascinating craft of basketmaking. These days for two allow for more detailed attention, enabling students to gain a sound knowledge of stake and strand willow basketry techniques. You will spend the day with tutor Lisa Dear in tranquil surroundings allowing time to switch off from the outside world and focus on the rewarding and therapeutic qualities of making a creation which is both functional and aesthetically pleasing. During the course of the day you will learn about the qualities and applications of different types of willow. There will be examples of baskets and books for inspiration. The tutor will discuss your particular project before the course. Different options can be seen in the gallery. Teenagers are welcome if accompanied by an adult. Please note you should have fair manual dexterity for this course.
