Description
Come and learn how to weave one of these beautiful, giant fat ball bird feeders. They make a wonderful handmade gift and are a lovely, green alternative to other bird feeders. They can also be used in the kitchen for storing fruit such as lemons or limes etc. This mini course is a great introduction to working with willow. You will get a feel for the strength and versatility of willow as a material for craft and sculpture. Our woodland venue at Weavers Wood, Pirbright is the venue with a fire pit and warm refreshments, including cake or maybe even a mince pie for that festive feel to get you into the the Christmas mood! If you have severe arthritis or mobility issues you may find this workshop challenging as we will be working with some thick willow stems. Group bookings welcome. this course is only viable if at least 8 people attend. Course includes: half day expert tuition; all prepared materials; tools and light refreshments.
What's included in the price?
You will need some close fitting work gloves. Secateurs provided but you can bring your own if you prefer. This course is undercover but outside, so you will need warm clothes. On very cold days there will be a fire pit outside. Plenty of tea, coffee & biscuits is included in the price
