Enjoy a relaxed, hands-on session learning the beautiful craft of steam bending and making your own sculptural wooden wall planter to take home and hang. This workshop is perfect for adults who want to try something a bit different, get making with real tools and materials, and come away with a unique piece for their home or garden. It also makes a gorgeous creative gift experience for birthdays, Mother’s Day, Christmas, or simply a thoughtful treat to share with a friend or family member. You don’t need any previous woodworking experience. After a friendly introduction to steam bending, you’ll be working with the wood yourself very quickly. We’ll guide you step by step so you always feel supported but still very much the maker of your piece.
What's included in the price?
Over the session you will: · Steam bend thin strips of wood to form the curved front of your planter. · Shape and refine the bends so they sit neatly against the back plate. · Sand and smooth the wooden parts ready for finishing. · Choose from a range of plant-based oils to tint and protect the wood. · Assemble your wall planter so it’s ready to hang and display a favourite plant. Every wall planter leaves the workshop looking completely different – your choice of wood tones, bend shapes and finish means your piece will be truly individual. The atmosphere is friendly and unpressured, with plenty of time for questions, experimentation and a hot drink as you work. You’ll head home with: · A finished steam-bent wall planter, ready to hang or gift. · Your new knowledge of this unique technique. · The satisfaction of having made something beautiful and useful with your own hands. All materials and equipment are provided, and our finishing oils are plant-based, so the whole process is vegan-friendly.

Please wear clothes that don't matter if they get oil on them. We provide gloves for oiling to protect your hands but occasionally there can be spillages!
Please wear closed toe shoes and ties for long hair.
Yes - we have amble space on our drive and on the field opposite.
We can have up to 7 people and are happy to hold team building / corporate days / parties.

Yes, we provide Oat milk for teas & coffee.
All of our finishing oils for the wood work are also plant based!
