I was given this weekend stained glass course as a Christmas present, and I couldn't have asked for anything more wonderful! I was the only person booked onto this course, so benefitted from 1-1 tuition from the lovely Gill. I was given the option of creating one large A3 piece from leaded stained glass, or try a smaller leaded A4 stained glass piece on the first day and a copper-foil stained glass piece on the second. I chose the two separate pieces and am so glad I did- both techniques are really interesting, and Gill is a brilliant teacher! She made it so easy, from cutting the glass and stretching the lead to using the soldering iron. She explained everything clearly and made it an absolutely pleasure. It was so lovely to have someone so interesting and knowledgeable to chat to throughout the weekend, and the beautiful location also helped! As an added bonus, the lovely Santa and Michael from the farm shop on site made us the most delicious lunch. Worth visiting just for their white chocolate and raspberry brownies!
I’ve come home with two beautiful pieces and am very much looking forward to returning in the future.
Response from Gill Rogers:Many thanks Amelia for your wonderful review and kind comments, it was so lovely to meet you and I had such a fun time too!
My Partner and I booked this course during the winter lockdown, as we are very interested in stained glass and we wanted something to look forward to!
Attending course, which is in a stunning location and easy to find; was a lot more than was expected. Gill is a wonderful and friendly tutor, who made us feel comfortable and welcomed from the get go. The process of stained glass was taught very well with no pressure and we produced some beautiful pieces under Gills supervision. Lunch was included and covered by Gill, at the Cafe in the same building, which was so delicious, and a lovely bonus to be included in the overall course experience.
Gill has gone above and beyond to provide not only a knowledgeable 2 day course, but a wonderful 2 days experience/getaway aswell. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and would highly recommend it to everyone!!
Response from Gill Rogers:Thank you so much for your wonderful kind comments Marie and it was so great to meet you and Marc. I loved your enthusiasm and company over the 2 days and had such a fab time too!
This course was everything and more than I hoped for. Gill is a dream of a tutor, knowledgable, encouraging, nothing is too much trouble she also has a fab sense of humour. I was made to feel welcome from the very start and the praise and encouragement she gave me over the 2 days has given me the confidence to carry on with this fascinating craft. I could have spent a week and more in her company learning from her vast knowledge. I have every intention of taking more courses from her when ever my schedule permits. Thank you Gill 😊
Response from Gill Rogers:Thank you so much for your wonderful, kind comments Jo and it was such a great pleasure to meet you and Mike.
I spent a fantastic weekend with Gill Rogers learning about traditional stained glass techniques. The weekend was informative, relaxed and fun and I brought home a beautiful stained glass panel that I can proudly say 'I made' (with some help from Gill). I do though feel that I can have a go at home once I have bought some essential equipment; and can't wait to try out my new skills. Thank you Gill for a fabulous introduction and for giving me the confidence to have a go. Also I cannot recommend highly enough the fabulous gallery and cafe at Craft Renaissance for their hospitality and the beautiful works on show from various artists. A fantastic course in a beautiful and relaxing setting - 11/10!
Excellent course - I would recommend to anyone who wants to try something new. Lovely workshop in a great location. Gill is an excellent teacher with a huge amount of experience that she loves to share. I made a lovely stained glass window panel that is now proudly hanging up at home and is admired by many. Thank you Gill - I'll be back for more.
I have had a wonderful time and so proud of everything I made and re-learnt!
Thank you Gill, I will be back for more courses!!!
Thanks so much Gill, I really enjoyed the course a lot.
I have learnt so much about stained glass, it's my new hobby!!
A brilliant 2 day weekend course and achieved far more than I thought I would.
Sign of a good teacher!
Hi Gill, just wanted to thank you so much for last weekend, I really did enjoy it and learnt so much.
I do indeed smile every time I look at the stained glass which is in the kitchen taking pride of place.
I would very much like to come again next year all being well and thanks so much for your enthusiasm.
Take care, Lois
A great weekend and Gill made sure I came home with a great stained glass piece to show off!
Gill's relaxed and friendly approach made sure I had a lot of fun and laughs whilst learning a new skill.
She has an eye for detail and that rubs off, so no corner cutting! I made a beautiful copper foil mirror and I am thrilled with it, also a fabulous lunch!!
Why be bored – forget the television get yourself onto one of Gill Rogers stained glass courses and not only learn a new skill but end up with a completed project to be proud of.
Having just attended one such course in a warm and friendly studio with a skilled glass artist who guides you through the art of stained glass, and provides an excellent lunch, I can recommend the experience.
Singles, pairs or parties give Gill a ring and enjoy learning that new skill you will not regret it.
Regards, Tony Parsons
