The Joy of Upcycling is here! On this course you will learn ways to give new life to old clothes and fabric scraps that might otherwise have found their way into landfill. Over the 6 sessions you will be getting stuck in and experimenting, discovering different ways to transform unloved items in your wardrobe into something new! You’ll finish the course with a new set of skills, but also with a new found joy and confidence in your creative abilities and an enthusiasm to keep experimenting at home. In this course, we will cover: - Basic clothing alteration techniques (including no-sew, hand & machine sewing) - Upcycling old clothing & scraps into something new - Simple but effective embellishment with hand embroidery & 3D trimming (great for hiding small stains/holes!) As part of the course, you can join my Joy of Upcycling Facebook group, where you can stay in touch with your fellow makers and share ideas. Through this group, I will offer one-to-one assistance, and share regular updates with more project ideas and resources to keep you going on your creative journey.

What you will need
This course is designed to use materials you can find at home, but I have also provided suggestions where you can find sustainable crafting supplies with each video session. For details, please see materials list for each session. Use of a sewing machine for some sessions is optional (both hand sewing and machine sewing techniques will be shown).
