Spinner Ring - jewellery workshop in South Devon

This workshop is most suitable for students who have done a workshop with Bigbury Mint before or who have some basic jewellery making skills (soldering in particular). You will make two complete spinner rings to take home - first we make a copper ring to enable you to practice all the techniques needed and then you make one in solid silver. Both rings are beautiful and can be taken home and worn. These types of rings have many names including; meditation, worry turn, swivel rings, turn rings, prayer rings or motion rings. Many people believe that these rings are helpful in relieving stress or anxiety as the wearer can fiddle with them if they are feeling worried. The workshops are based in our well equipped working Mint in Ermington, South Devon. In this 4 hour workshop, you will be taught how to make a ring with a separate moving band. Group bookings are welcome. For more information on the next workshops contact us above

Bigbury Mint

with Craft Courses since 2017

Message the tutor

The craft courses are held at Devon's only Medal Mint. Bigbury Mint has been established since 1980 and creates medals for both military and commission clients. They also create their own bespoke jewellery and heritage gifts. Medal-making requires us to learn many different craft skills, some of which could be ‘lost’ as technologies change. We think it’s important to take the trouble to teach and pass on these skills and techniques.
