Sea Glass Setting Workshop

Description

A chance for avid beach combers and sea glass hoarders to make their finds into wearable treasure. Time: 10am - 3pm In this workshop you will learn to set a piece of sea glass, a pebble or some sea ceramics into silver to make a charm or a pendant. We will spend the day making a silver collet (cup) for your sea glass to sit in, finishing by soldering a bail onto your collet to create your pendant or charm and finishing and polishing your piece to a high standard. Classes will be kept to four people to allow for the more detailed tuition needed for this course. Tea, coffee and biscuits provided. This class is ideal for someone who has a bit of basic jewellery making knowledge. If you would like to add your sea glass collet to a ring, cuff or bangle, I suggest coming to make that piece of jewellery in one of the all day silver workshops first to give us plenty of time to concentrate on your setting. Silver is on top of the workshop day price and will need to be paid for on the day. This can range from £8 - £65 depending on what you make. Ideal for beginners or those wanting to improve their skills. You will need to bring a packed lunch. Age 16+ (Age 14 and 15 years may attend but must be accompanied by an adult). Bookings made for this workshop will be confirmed by email only. What's included in the price?

All tools, tutoring, time spent in the workshop, tea, coffee and biscuits are included in the price Silver is at an additional cost and will be paid for on the day, it will be between £8 - £65 depending on the amount of silver you use.

With over ten years jewellery making experience I am passionate about the different processes and alchemy involved in jewellery making. I have been running silver and gold jewellery making workshops at my studio since 2014. Sharing my enthusiasm for jewellery making is something that I really enjoy and it is important to me to do so in an environment that is comfortable and pleasant for anyone who comes to learn.
