Warping Up at the Two Day Rigid Heddle Weaving Workshop

Description

Join us for two days while we walk you through warping and weaving with your rigid heddle loom. On day one we will warp your loom with gorgeous hand dyed yarns ready for you to weave and then you will have a choice of yarns to sample and experiment with while you weave your length of fabric. You’ll learn: How to directly warp your loom How to decide the length of your project Which heddle suits which yarn How to hemstich your work for that neater finish Different techniques to add texture and interest to your work This longer, two day event will allow us to relax with our weaving and weave the length of fabric you would like. You are welcome to bring along your own loom or use one of ours.

What's included in the price?

You are welcome to bring along any fabric, ribbons, sari silk….anything really that would inspire you, but there will be plenty of hand dyed yarns to use on the course if you don’t.

"I really enjoyed the day and being a new weaver was very pleased with how much we all achieved. Cathy was very knowledgeable and helpful, and her yarns are just gorgeous to work with. Everything was setup ready for us, fantastic choice of colours to use, and we even used some silks one of the attendees brought with her. The Williamson Art Gallery in Birkenhead was a perfect venue, fabulous cafe, lovely people and lots of space, easy parking, everything we needed. I'm definitely interested in continuing to weave and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this course."

"Excellent course - really enjoyed it when I participated today (11/02/17). Cathy set a very comfortable, homely, reassuring atmosphere and we all achieved a great deal in the half day. I took home my project with some extra embroidery thread to help me finish it, and worked on it some more this afternoon. Just lovely. Would really recommend. LLxx"
