Learn this traditional craft and turn your old clothes and textiles into small pieces of art. In this class you will learn the skills to create and design your very own small rug or cushion. The course is suitable for all abilities, beginners as well as those with more experience. Using traditional tools and various techniques, you will be taught and encouraged to create a small project. There will be plenty of one to one assistance throughout. You will learn: - to use different rug tools - methods to prepare your materials/fabrics - how to work and finish hessian - 3 different techniques (prodding, progging and hooking) - to design your own rugs - to use shaggy and loopy effects Please bring old clothes, bed sheets, curtains, towels etc with you to create a unique piece. Some rag rug items and books will be available to help inspire you on your journey into rag rugging. You will go home with the skills to create many more rugs, mats, cushion covers, wall hangings and more. If you enjoyed rag rugging, learn to speed up the process by using hoops and frames. Learn to use a speed shuttle tool. Or learn how to use an adjustable punch needle

What's included in the price?

All tools will be provided, including hessian and some fabric to get you started. A range of light refreshments, biscuits and sweets will also be provided. Please bring your own lunch.
