Patchwork Fabric Sculpted Hare 3D available in video format for you to create at home - by Inky Escapades

Hopscotch the Hare

This is a home learning course where you will create a Patchworks Fabric Sculpted hare approximately 16" tall.

In these extensive step by step videos I will lead you through the process to create an armature, cover the armature in fabric and patches and create the facial features.

I then explain fully the colouring process.

I will supply basic ingredients to create this project assuming you already have Powertex.

Alternatively I can supply a complete kit of everything you require to complete this project.

Let me introduce you to the wonderful world of Powertex. It is a water based, non toxic and environmentally friendly universal medium it is a liquid essentially a paint and glue combined and it is a fabric hardener, used to create 2D or 3D sculptures.

In the case of fabric sculpted creatures they can go in the garden once dried for 3 weeks and they would benefit from a coat of varnish.

Obviously you can go at your own pace and can email me any questions at any time should you need to.

The videos will be sent to you via an email link and you are reminded that they are for your own personal use only and are not to be replicated in any way.

This is also available as an in-person course- please select 'See more by this course organiser' tab to see other course options available.

Wow. What an amazing course. Be careful, you could soon be addicted to a whole new craft. Teacher was outstanding and the activity was so much fun. The day flew by and we both learnt so much. Our dragonflies were both stunning and unique to our own style. I couldn't believe what Karen helped us achieve in such a short time with no previous experience. 100% recommended.

Response from Inky Escapades:

Wow Thank you so much for such a great review much appreciated I really enjoyed meeting you both and your Dragonflies were wonderful
Kind Regards

We attended our class on 12 February 2022, I was looking forward to going to Inky Escapades, but a little worried that I may be rubbish at it. Karen was wonderful very understanding and very welcoming and helped where necessary, it was a wonderful day and would definitely do it again, I came away feeling great and with an elephant, fantastic.

Response from Inky Escapades:

Hi Pam Thanks so much for your kind words. I enjoyed meeting you and your Daughter and helping you to create your Elephants. They were both very beautiful and your colour choices were lovely
I hope to see you back sometime in the future
Kind Regards

We attended our first powertex workshop not really knowing what to expect. Karen was very welcoming and immediately put us at ease. The studio was set up to comply with Covid 19 regulations whilst still achieving an informal friendly space. Karen was an informative, patient teacher and guided us through the lesson allowing us to work at our own pace and explore our own creativity whilst keeping a close eye on us.
Lunch was in her lovely garden with social distancing. We ended the course with items that we were very happy with and never thought we could actually achieve. We are already talking about what item we are going to make on our next visit. 😃.

This was a fabulous course and we really loved our Hares! they take pride of place in our lounge. Karen was an amazing teacher and instructed us throughout the day enabling us to work at our own pace but keeping us on track! The facilities are brilliant and there was a lovely garden for sitting in at lunch time, refreshments were made available and there was plenty of anti bacterial wash in all areas with paper towels to comply with current corona legislation. Thoroughly recommend and we will be back!

Response from Inky Escapades:

How kind of you to leave me such a lovely review, I really enjoyed meeting you both and helping you create your fabulous Stone Art Hares. I am so pleased you enjoyed your day and that your Hares are on display in your lounge no less!
I look forward to hosting another workshop for you in the future

What a tremendous experience!
I am a complete novice when it comes to working with mixed media but fortunately I didn’t let this deter me. As a result, I left the course with a fabulous piece of art work and have already booked a second workshop!
Karen’s expertise and passion for her work is reflected in her calm, encouraging teaching style. The venue is comfortable and we were totally looked after by Karen and ‘her team’ throughout the day. The coffee and delicious homemade cakes were a particularly nice extra touch.

Response from Inky Escapades:

Thank You very much Kirsty for you lovely review
I am so pleased you enjoyed your experience and I really enjoyed meeting you.
I look forward to helping you create more lovely art using this fabulous medium that is Powertex!

I attended the course on 12th January 2020. I am a complete novice to all things craft, so starting from a blank canvas as far as my skill set is concerned. Karen took us through, step by step how to build our masterpiece, not just explaining how but showing us how, which was extremely useful. The course was well run and suited all abilities with each of us producing a decorative piece for our gardens.
Karen's attention to detail throughout was fabulous and she was very supportive. The workshop was a perfect creative environment and everything I needed was provided.
A lot of thought and imagination had gone into running this course and it showed in the final results.
I would recommend this course to anyone who just wants to give something new/different a go. With such an inspirational teacher everyone will produce something amazing!

Response from Inky Escapades:

Why Thank you Leigh for your very kind words
The Owl is such a lovely subject I love helping people to create such a lovely garden sculpture
I am very glad you enjoyed your day and I hope you get great enjoyment from looking at the beautiful Owl you created.
Well done and I hope to see you for another Powertex Workshop some time in the future
Kind Regards

Attended the course on the 28th September 2019 and it was absolutely brilliant, brilliant, brilliant.

From arriving and over the whole session Karen and her team (hubby working away) were outstanding.

We were both complete novices and managed to make 2 stunning pieces of work, that we took away with us on the day.

Everything was provided and Karen made the time to explain clearly the steps that needed to be done and what to be aware of, if you did not do specific tasks. Karen is definitely aware of how Powertex works and is someone who passes on that knowledge willingly and with flare.

Karen made us feel very welcome in her home and he workshop is a little haven at the bottom of the garden, which shows off her work with flare. The cake was too yummy to pass up.

Definitely be back.

Response from Inky Escapades:

Thank You so much for your kind words and for taking the trouble to leave me a review - I am so pleased you both loved your workshop and your introduction to Powertex. Do let me know whether Asia managed to obtain extra credits based on the fabulous piece she created from her photograph
