Description
Painting in layers of mixed media inspired by organic shapes. We will be studying organic shapes based upon dried buds and leaves. Loose sketches are done to familiarise shapes and tones. Working on heavy weight gessoed paper and using sharpie pens. We will do a continuous line drawing concentrating on the basic shapes. These will then be covered with a thin layer of white acrylic paint and allowed to dry. Using a pencil the image is loosely drawn on top of the previous layer. Then another layer of thin white acrylic is added. Following these 2 layers, PVA glue is painted all over the surface. Lastly a layer of diluted ink is used to redraw again. These layers can be repeated again. Working with our abstracted image paint, pastels and ink are applied to bring the desired image. All techniques will be demonstrated and practiced first. Suitable for all abilities.
