One on One Weaving Workshop

About the Course

This is a great course for both weavers with some experience and complete novices. The day starts with the set up of the loom explained as well as the use of different yarns and patterns and the effect these have on the cloth. You can choose to use either a table loom in our workshop or our large floor loom in the shop upstairs. The looms are already set up so it's then up to you to pick colours and patterns and create your own fabric.
All fabric woven during the course is then cut off for you to take away with you.
Workshops can be booked in at a time convenient to you.

If you will be redeeming a CraftCourses gift voucher on this course, the voucher code must be provided at the point of booking.

What's included in the price?

Loom hire and all yarns are included. Refreshments are provided.

In-person course
- - #9388

I attended a one-to-one 2-day weaving course in May 2017. The course was both excellent and inspiring. As a novice, I felt the need to have dedicated attention at a pace that suited me (slow). Not only did I get to learn about the setting up of a loom (which is fairly complicated and time-consuming), proof, if that is needed, that the effort of weaving is extremely labour-intensive and that much of that labour is hidden when one buys a woven item, but I also managed to weave a sample in colours of my own choosing, which clearly demonstrated how different weave patterns interact with selected colours - often in very pleasing ways aesthetically. I could not have asked for a more patient teacher. I cannot recommend this course highly enough. And I will find any excuse to organise a 'refresher' when the time comes!
