Mosaic wall hangings using vintage and retro china

X

Description

This one day course runs from 10am till 5pm during which time you will be taught by Wendy Dobbenie how to create a beautiful mosaic wall hanging made from recycled crockery.

There are 3 basic shapes available: a square, circle or heart shape which all measure around 20cm width and height.
More ambitious crafters can choose to mosaic a more complex shape of their choice.

You will be shown how to design your artwork, how to use the cutting tools safely and how to adhere the crockery to the plywood substrate. A grouting demo will be given and you will be given a grouting kit to take home as ideally one should allow 24h for the adhesive to properly set before grouting.
You are welcome to bring along any of your own chipped or broken crockery that you would like to incorporate in your work.

Cancellation and a full refund can be obtained up to 2 weeks before the course starts. Start dates may be amended on request.

What's included in the price?

Included in the price is your plywood base, lots of vintage and retro china to choose from, adhesive plus a grouting and hanging kit.
There will also be free of charge tea, coffee and biscuits available, but no lunch. There is an excellent bistro next door or you are welcome to bring a packed lunch.

I enjoyed an excellent day with Wendy, who inspired me to make a mosaic I was pleased with. Wendy had lots of beautiful crockery for us to ‘play’ with and provided us with a base board of our chosen shape. Wendy gave us lots of time and attention, offering great ideas to help us, whilst leaving the final creative choices to us. The day was relaxed and friendly and the venue comfortable.

A great day Wendy. Thank you!

Response from Wendy's Mosaic Designs:

Thank you so much, Annie, for writing this kind review. I hope I have inspired you to make more mosaics at home.
