Mosaic making with MossyMosaic

Mosaic making for beginners at The Arienas Collective in Edinburgh City Centre
X

Description

Discover the magic of mosaic making on this beginners' workshop with Jacky Cox.

Mosaicing fits in perfectly with our vision of a world where recycling, repurposing and upcycling is the norm. Jacky works with a variety of materials including glass, recycled crockery and natural materials like slate and sea glass, and finds the whole creative process from sourcing to creating absorbing, relaxing and mesmerising.

On this 3 hour beginners' taster session, Jacky will help you create two mosaic items using methods you can do at home. You will begin by designing a beautiful hanging heart using vitreous ('swimming pool') tiles. While this is drying ready for grouting, Jacky will show you how to create a simple, non-grouted drinks coaster.

You will learn about mosaic equipment, including tile cutting techniques for vitreous tiles using a wheelcutter; grouting; and how to stay safe while mosaicing.

You will take home two finished mosaic pieces, and have learned all you need to know to start your mosaicing journey.

Refunds are not available on this booking. Start dates may be amended on request.

What's included in the price?

All materials are included and you will have access to all the equipment you need. Light refreshments are provided free of charge. You will take home your completed mosaic projects.
