Make A Ring With A Stone Setting Or A Pendant (Cornwall)
Description
In this class, we will make a silver ring and set it with a gemstone of your choice. If you would like to make multiple stone set rings, you can make additional ones for £40. Most students can't make more than 2 rings in a day. You will be working with an 8mm round semi-precious stone. You can also make a pendant if you prefer, sterling silver chains will be available to purchase on the day. This class is suitable for beginners and is an introduction to stone-setting and basic silversmithing techniques. We will break each stage down step by step throughout the class so you can leave wearing your new creation! I tutor up to 4 people in one session. More can be accommodated, but I will need to bring another teacher in - so only on request! This will take place in my studio in Penryn (near Falmouth), Cornwall. Please note, my studio is shared with a few other artists so there may be other people around while I'm teaching. Courses can be 4-6 hours long. Age Restrictions Classes are suitable for anyone over 16; for ages 14-16 they will need to be accompanied by an adult who is also booked into the class. What's included in the price?
The silver and gemstone to make your ring. When booking please let me know your desired semi precious stone, almost all are available (turquoise and garnet are not). If your chosen gem isn’t available, you may be able to source your own stone but please contact me to check if its suitable first! Please bring a pack lunch!

FAQs
Depends which course you are booking onto and how many people are attending. If you are the only person attending, most courses will be complete within 3 hours. For groups of 3 or more you are looking at 4/5 hours for most courses.
If you are going to get hungry over the course of the session I'd advise bringing a pack lunch. There is tea and coffee available at my studio, but there isn't many shops within walking distance.
There is indeed, there is usually parking directly out front but if this is unavailable There will be parking available within the yard.
