Linocut in full Colour: composition, carve and colour Beginners linocut workshop. You will build confidence in your linocut process including, composition, colour and using carving tools. This linocut workshop is great for beginners and improvers. A brilliant way to build skills in a cosy and encouraging environment. Over the course of the session we will explore: Composition: You will learn about creating a balanced design and how to create a multicolour print using a variety of methods, such as reduction cut, multiblock or stamp. Carving: you will be shown how to use the cutting tools safely and how the different tools work. Colour: you will explore colour combinations and how to mix and blend colours successfully. You will be shown how to prepare and roll out printmaking ink. Print: you will be shown how to make a simple registration to print multicolour images successfully. You can expect to take home a selection of colourful prints. About your tutor: Aprille is a practicing visual artist and course leader with over 10 years in delivering printmaking courses to all ages and abilities. Her aim is to champion and support others in their creative journey. By listening, engaging and visualising Aprille works to break down the idea of being ‘arty’ to enable an open and playful mindset that encourages people to build confidence and have a go.

What's included in the price?

Along with my guidance all materials are provided including, ink, cutting tools, paper and a selection of burnishing tools to play with. I have lots of art and design books that you are welcome to look through for inspiration. You can expect fresh coffee, a selection of teas, soft drinks and snacks. Please bring a packed lunch, as lunch will not be supplied.
