This workshop will be delivered by Liz Riley and supported by Lynn Comley (2 Tutors).
You will spend the day in the magnificent Richardson Conservatory within the award-winning Scampston Walled Garden. This workshop gives participants all the basic information and skills to learn the technique of 3D wet felting, you will create a beautiful medium sized seamless wool felted handbag.
Felt is surprisingly strong and no two pieces will ever be the same, this is the time to embrace your creativity and add your personal mark.
This method of felting uses soap, warm water and agitation to tangle fibres together to create felt. In approximately 5 ½ hours you will explore making a colourful handbag, we start by using a resist (pattern) for your bag you will then be guided through choosing colours and textures and the wet felting process.
There will be a short 30 minute break for lunch, in order to maximise teaching time. After the workshop you will also be able to visit the surrounding gardens which close at 5pm.
