A6 pocket sized book that explains all the secrets to making a tunnel book. Tunnel books are special picture books that contain an illustrated scene held together with concertina folded sides and are like a small theatre with scenery. Each layer of the scene is pierced with holes that allow you to see what is in the next layer. See example illustration of what can be achieved. This book explains the basic method of making and putting together the layers: it requires accurate measuring and patience, but you will be rewarded for your work with an unusual book. Hardcover, concertina book covered in handprinted paper (I use a variety of my papers for the covers, so design and colours not necessarily as shown) with the illustrated text printed on thick white paper (8 sides). Each step is fully and clearly illustrated with clear directions. Example illustrations are shown, but you will need to design your own book. Size: 10x15cm/4x6 inches.

I trained at the Surrey institute of Art and Design before moving to West Wales in 2004. I design and print my own papers and make books from them in my studio in an old stone barn.
