Maker
Mary-Ann often lives in a very weird but beautiful place that only exists in her head that she calls Concordia’s World. Her fantasy world creations are enchanting, highly detailed sculptures of the creatures that reside there. Many of them fly with the aid of mechanical movement (automata and balance sculptures). She hopes they will bring a little magic with them into this world to help others smile and perhaps encourage them to rediscover and escape into their own childhood imaginations. Mary-Ann is a self taught mixed-media artist and tutor who has only become an artist in recent years. Her first major textile sculpture resulted in a feature on BBC Radio Solent morning show. She has recorded and appeared live on Susan Weeks Stitchery Stories podcast and regularly holds workshops to share the skills and techniques she has developed with others.
