This is a bespoke mentoring class over zoom on a one to one basis. Lasting 1 hour, As a beginner you may have lots of questions and its easier for you to ask these question and get an answer straight away rather than trawling through hours of YouTube videos. Tips, techniques and general chat. I will cover whatever questions you may have on Hand engraving. Topics that may be of interest are. 1) Buying and setting up your first graver 2)Sharpening techniques 3) Use of turntables , Optimisers .oils and other engraving equipment 4)Transfer techniques 5)Bright cut 6) Lettering 7) Use of flat , round and Onglette gravers.8 8) use of the liner 9)Florentine designs etc. Whether you are a beginner of have been engraving for a while, you now have a source / mentor to bounce your questions off.
What's included in the price?
One hour of dedicated time with John Cook. I have set up my work bench with multi cameras so you can see exactly what I do and how I do it. I have flip charts , examples, large props and all my tools around me so we can get right to the heart of the questions.
What you will need
If you have a question and a pc or laptop /phone we schedule one hour time slot that is mutually agreeable. I will send you a Zoom meeting number and password with the time on. Then we are ready to go. log into zoom and join the meeting. It's that simple.

I am a hand engraver using traditional techniques of "push engraving" with a graver, hammer and chisel, and power assist using GRS and Pulsegraver systems. I have studied in Florence Italy, USA, Luxembourg, Belgium and the UK. I have won numerous hand engraving awards over the years and compliment my commission work with teaching which I love.
